It is said by veteran hunters that the Moosehead Region is one of the best hunting grounds. Large and inhabited forests provide excellent cover for moose, deer, bear, and small game. In every direction are hardwood ridges, one after another, small swamps of cedar and fir between. Old logging roads penetrating deep into the woods make excellent hunting. 

Positioned below the Brassua Dam, Moose River is the prime fishing location for wild salmon, togue, brook trout and the occasional lake trout. You can reach the middle of Moosehead Lake by traveling down river - only a 10 minute boat ride from our docks. Moosehead Lake is 40 miles wide offering you plenty of water to catch the big fish. The lake is full of brook and lake trout, landlocked salmon, perch, cusk, and togue.  

Whether ATV/UTV/Snowmobiling, our trails are some of the best in the country. Best of all you can return to a cozy cabin at Maynard's after a fun day on the trail. 

You can swim off our river landing. We just advise that there is a current. It's the perfect spot for a short tube or float ride. Start up by our docks, float to the end of the island and then paddle in our cove to start all over!
